# Heatmap

Encode values at two coordinates using color.

Canonical: https://chart.syidax.com/docs/components/heatmap/

<a id="overview"></a>

## sy-heatmap

Explore matrix patterns across time, products, sensor locations, and similar dimensions.

Color alone makes precise values difficult to read. Provide a legend, tooltips, and a table.

Base chart tier: Pro. Features such as additional renderers and custom branding have separate entitlement requirements.

| Input | Data description |
| --- | --- |
| `data` | An array of { x, y, value }. x and y are numeric or categorical coordinates. |

| HTML attribute | Pass objects, arrays, and callbacks as JavaScript properties |
| Type | `VisualMapBinding \| null` |
| Default | `undefined` |

undefined means this property was not explicitly set. The effective value may depend on the chart type and other settings.
